Your Reliable Rubberwood Stile and Rail Door Manufacturer in China
- Has the weight and opening feel of a solid wood door.
- More stable than a door made from a full solid wood slab.
- Smooth wood surface with a consistent gloss level.
- 50 mm-thick stiles provide strong resistance to warping.
Custom Rubberwood Stile and Rail Door Structure
Our stile and rail doors are made from solid rubberwood components, including two 120 mm-wide vertical stiles, 80 mm-wide horizontal rails and 25 mm-thick inset panels. Each component is machined separately and then assembled into a complete door leaf.
A standard-size door leaf weighs approximately 45 kg, making it heavier than many hollow-core and lightweight composite doors. This gives the door a more solid feel and makes it suitable for villas, hotels and other projects where a substantial solid-wood door is preferred.
Send us your drawings or reference designs, and we will provide a suitable stile and rail door solution within 24 hours.
Stile and Rail Doors by Panel Design
Wanbaoyijia rubberwood stile and rail doors are available with different panel designs to meet the style, lighting and functional requirements of different projects.

Suitable for modern homes, apartments and hotel projects. The flat panel design gives the wooden door a simpler appearance.

Suitable for villas. Carved patterns can be added to the panel surface according to the project design.

Suitable for kitchens, dining rooms, studies and other spaces that require more natural light. The number, size and position of the glass panels can be customised.
Stile and Rail Door Pre-Production Checklist
Before mass production, we confirm the details that affect wood movement, hardware installation and the appearance of the full order, reducing problems during production and installation.

Before production, we confirm the destination and local humidity so that the wood moisture content can be controlled according to the environment in which the doors will be used. This helps you reduce after-sales issues caused by cracking or warping during use.

We confirm the finished door opening size, wall thickness and floor level to ensure that the door leaf, frame and architraves fit the installation area, so you can reduce on-site modifications and rework.

We confirm whether each door opens to the left or right, and whether it opens inwards or outwards, helping you reduce door-handing errors during installation.

We confirm the number, proportions and positions of the panels. Carving details and glass positions are also marked on the production drawings, allowing you to check whether the door design meets the project requirements before mass production.

A standard-size stile and rail door leaf weighs approximately 45 kg. We confirm the hinge size, thickness, quantity and positions according to the door weight, helping you reduce hinge sagging and later adjustment during use.

Before machining the door leaf, we confirm the lock body, backset, handle height and hole positions according to your hardware drawings, reducing problems with lock installation or on-site re-machining.

Before production, we confirm the colour sample, clear or coloured finish and gloss level. For clear finishes, we also confirm the acceptable range of natural wood grain and colour variation so you can keep the appearance consistent across the full order.

Room numbers and floor numbers can be marked on each door package according to your requirements, making it easier for you to distribute, handle and install the doors on site.
Key Differences of Rubberwood Stile and Rail Doors
Compared with hollow core doors, moulded panel doors and flush doors, the main components of rubberwood stile and rail doors are made from solid wood. They are suitable for projects that require solid wood while also keeping the project budget under control.

Provides the weight, strength and substantial feel expected from a 100% solid wood door.

Keeps hinges and locks firmly secured during frequent opening and closing.

Creates deeper panel lines and a more authentic framed-panel appearance than a grooved flush door.

Allows minor scratches and local paint damage to be repaired without replacing the entire door leaf.

Allows limited trimming or re-machining without exposing paper honeycomb or particleboard cores.

Provides the appearance, weight and durability of a solid wood door at a more manageable project cost.
Reducing Cracking in Stile and Rail Doors
Solid wood panels expand and contract as temperature and humidity change. To allow this movement, Wanbaoyijia controls both the groove depth and the shape of the groove opening.
Firstly, the grooves in the stiles and rails are approximately 15 mm deep, while the panel is inserted by around 10 mm. This leaves about 5 mm of space inside the groove, allowing the panel to expand and contract without pressing directly against the frame.
Secondly, the groove opening is not made as a standard rectangular slot. The lower section is rectangular, while the opening flares outwards to form a Y-shaped profile. This reduces direct contact between the panel edge and the visible part of the frame, helping to reduce pressure and visible cracking around the joint.
These two structural details allow the solid wood panel to move naturally and help reduce the risk of cracking caused by changes in humidity.

Four Steps to Secure Stile and Rail Door Joints
First, the ends of the rails use profiled interlocking joints. The matching raised and recessed profiles increase the contact area and limit movement between the rails and stiles.
Second, each joint is reinforced with two wooden dowels and adhesive. The profiled joint provides positioning, while the dowels and adhesive reduce loosening after repeated opening and closing.
After assembly, the door leaf is placed in a press and pressed with approximately 1.5 tonnes of force.
Finally, the door leaf is placed in a holding frame and locked with three to four screw clamps for approximately 12 hours. This keeps the joints closed and the door leaf in its corrected position until the adhesive has fully cured.
Profiled interlocking joints, two wooden dowels, pressing, dimensional correction and extended clamping connect the separate components into a stable, complete door leaf.

Our Stile and Rail Door Supply Advantages

Wanbaoyijia operates a factory specialising in rubberwood stile and rail doors. We can customise production according to your order quantity, panel design, paint colour, surface finish and delivery schedule.
With 15 years of experience in the interior door industry, we understand the practical concerns you may have when purchasing solid wood doors. We do not recommend products based only on the price per door. Instead, we help you select a suitable stile and rail door based on the design requirements, quality level, order budget and intended use.
Stile and Rail Door Solutions for Different Projects
Different projects have different requirements for budget, interior design and natural light. These projects show how we adjusted the panel layout, paint finish and door configuration to meet each client’s requirements.

For an apartment project in Algeria, the client required solid wood doors while keeping the budget under control. We recommended rubberwood stile and rail doors with a simple single-panel design and used the same standard colour throughout the order. This reduced the purchasing cost by approximately 15% while keeping the doors in solid wood.

For a villa project in Egypt, the client wanted the complete door sets to match the interior style of the house. After reviewing the design, we recommended customised stile and rail doors and adjusted the panel proportions and paint finish according to the project requirements.

For a hotel project in China, the client wanted the doors to match the Chinese-style interior. We used plum blossom and bird carvings on the centre panels based on the project theme. The finished door design remained consistent with the interior style of the hotel.

For a project in Hong Kong, the client wanted more natural light in the dining room. We replaced four wooden panels with decorative glass while keeping the surrounding stile and rail structure. After installation, the client was pleased with both the lighting effect and the appearance of the door.

Trusted Stile and Rail Doors for Global Projects
A true stile and rail door is assembled from separate stiles, rails and panels. The panel divisions form part of the door structure. A grooved flush door is made by machining lines into the surface of a complete flat door leaf, while the internal structure remains that of a flush door. The two may look similar, but their production methods and internal structures are different.
For non-standard sizes, the widths of the stiles and rails normally remain the same. When the door size changes, it is mainly the panel area that changes.
Yes. More panels require additional rails, joints and panels to be machined and assembled. There are also more areas to sand and paint, so the price and production time may increase. The final cost also depends on whether the door includes carving, decorative mouldings or glass.
Yes, but the track, rollers and wall opening must be suitable for the thickness and weight of the door leaf. Please confirm the opening method before production so that we can adjust the door dimensions and check the load capacity of the hardware system.
Both options are available. You can order the door leaf only or a complete door set with the frame and architraves. Hardware and machining services can also be included if confirmed before quotation.
