How Wanbaoyijia Concealed Sliding Doors Are Constructed
Concealed sliding door leaves are usually larger than standard hinged door leaves. We reinforce all four sides of the door leaf and use about twice as much perimeter-frame material as a standard door leaf.
To keep the door weight within the hardware load limit, we normally use 4 mm face panels. The internal core layout is adjusted to reduce unnecessary weight while keeping enough support around the edges and hardware areas.
For larger doors or projects with special requirements, aluminium honeycomb can be used as the door core. It reduces the door weight while providing support across the door leaf.

Concealed Sliding Door Options by Finish and Door Leaf Material
You can select the door leaf finish according to the required appearance and project budget. The internal structure can also be adjusted according to the load capacity of the concealed sliding hardware.
The door leaf is finished with melamine panels in solid colours or wood grains. You can keep the appearance consistent across apartments, hotels and other batch projects at a lower cost.
The door leaf is sanded and painted. It can have a flat surface or simple CNC-routed designs. You can select the colour and gloss level according to your project design.
Natural or engineered wood veneer is pressed onto the door leaf and then finished with paint or a clear coating. You can achieve a wood-grain appearance while keeping the concealed sliding structure.
PET film is laminated onto the flat door panel and is available in various solid colours. You can use it to match modern interiors.

Reinforced Upper and Lower Groove Areas
Concealed sliding doors normally require a hidden track groove at the top of the door leaf and a guide rail or roller groove at the bottom. These grooves remove part of the original door structure, so additional support is needed in these areas.
Before routing, Wanbaoyijia adds more solid wood blocks to the top and bottom of the door leaf, using about twice the amount used in a standard door leaf. The tracks, screws and roller components are fixed into these reinforced areas instead of only into the thin face panels.
This structure helps reduce the risk of cracking, loose hardware, sagging and door leaf deformation during long-term use.
Factory CNC Routing Based on the Sliding Hardware
Some concealed sliding door leaves are routed on site by installers. Wanbaoyijia can complete this machining in the factory before delivery.
You can send us the selected hardware, installation template or technical drawings, or use the concealed sliding hardware supplied by our factory. Before CNC programming, we check the dimensions of the upper track, lower track, rollers and other components.
The factory machines the upper and lower grooves according to the actual hardware, keeping the groove dimensions between 0 and 2 mm larger than the corresponding hardware dimensions. We can also carry out a fitting test before packing to reduce groove-position errors, hardware mismatches and on-site rework. At the project site, the installers mainly need to fix the wall brackets, hang the door and complete the final adjustments, making installation easier.

The following cases show how Wanbaoyijia provided different solutions based on each project’s requirements.
For an apartment project in Hong Kong, the available wall space beside the concealed sliding door opening was limited. We checked the door opening size and the distance between the opening and the side wall. We then recommended reducing the door leaf width by 5 cm, which solved the problem of the door being unable to open fully. The concealed sliding door has now been installed, and the client is satisfied with the result.
For a project in Thailand, the client ordered 20 sets of concealed sliding doors. As the client did not have suitable cutting equipment at the project site, they sent the hardware and installation drawings to our factory.
We checked the dimensions of the upper track, lower track and rollers against the door leaf dimensions, and then used CNC equipment to machine the required grooves. No. A concealed sliding door moves along the outside of the wall, with the main track and running hardware hidden behind or inside the door leaf. When a pocket door is opened, the door leaf slides into a cavity inside the wall.
A standard wall-mounted sliding door also moves along the wall, but the track and rollers are usually visible. These three door types have similar opening movements, but they use different hardware and wall structures.
Not necessarily. On this page, “concealed” mainly means that the track, rollers and other running hardware cannot be seen from the front.
The door leaf still moves along the outside of the wall, so an operating gap is required between the door leaf and the wall.
